For some patients who are struggling with issues that are particularly traumatic or emotionally distressing, EMDR may be helpful, either as an alternative to psychotherapy or as an adjunct to the psychotherapeutic work.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) uses bilateral stimulation to unblock the brain’s information system. Using detailed protocols, clinicians help clients activate their natural healing processes.

The work tends to take place over a limited number of sessions, either virtually or in person, and can have a very positive and powerful effect on the client.
